Laser Dental Treatments on Marco Island
Over the past several decades, laser dentistry has become more advanced in treating conditions that previously required invasive surgery. Lasers provide our Marco Island patients with gentler, quicker treatments and a shorter recovery time. Lasers are perfect for treating tongue-ties or removing excessive soft tissues along the gumlines (such as fibromas.) Instead of using a scalpel, a laser gently seals off the blood vessels and nerve endings as it modifies the surface of the gum tissue. We can even use it to treat cold sores.
Periodontal Therapy
Laser Assisted new Attachment Procedure (LANAP) is a non-invasive gum disease treatment that can prevent the need for conventional flap surgery with a periodontist. The LANAP procedure is done in conjunction with a deep cleaning, to destroy bacteria that cause periodontal infections. The process also triggers the reattachment of connective tissues, so that you can protect areas that are susceptible to tooth loss.
Most LANAP treatments are broken into two appointments, with one half of the mouth treated at one visit, and the other half at a follow-up visit. As that portion of the mouth is cleaned, the soft tissue laser is guided along the gum pocket, treating the tissues and creating a sterile environment.

No Cut. No Sew. No Fear Periodontal Therapy
If you’ve been delaying your dental care because of fear of surgery or the need to see a gum specialist, then our Marco Island dentists might be exactly what you’re looking for. Thanks to laser treatments, our patients are enjoying healthier mouths and less-invasive visits.

Sedation Options
Nitrous Oxide
Also known as laughing gas, is administered through a soft nose mask. You’ll notice that your fears quickly float away, leaving you in a state of warm, serene comfort. Nitrous oxide gas allows you to have the dental treatment that you need, yet makes it seem as though time is passing quickly.
IV Sedation
IV sedation is the next level in sedation services, in which you can enjoy a twilight nap while your oral needs are taken care of. Rest assured that you’re in good hands, with a licensed anesthesiologist administering your medication and monitoring you at all times.
Please note that with oral and IV sedation, you’ll need to make prior arrangements for a friend or family member to take you home. However, no alternate plans need to be made with nitrous oxide gas. You’ll find the effects of sedation gas quickly dissipate within moments of completing your dental procedure.
