Tooth Extractions on Marco Island

If you have a tooth that is too badly damaged to restore with a filling, crown, or root canal – then it’s usually recommended to have the tooth pulled. Our Marco Island dentists make every effort to save natural teeth, but tooth extractions are sometimes preferred; especially if you are experiencing:

  • A severe toothache
  • Advanced periodontal disease
  • Full mouth reconstruction with dental implants
  • Large cavities or fractured enamel
  • Dental emergencies

What to Expect

Surprisingly, having a tooth pulled isn’t as complex of a procedure as what some people fear that it will be. In most cases it is very straightforward and results in relief of discomfort.
First, our dentist will numb around the tooth so that you don’t feel any discomfort. Some of our patients also request sedation, such as nitrous oxide to help them relax.

After Your Tooth Extraction Procedure

Caring for your extraction site can speed up the recovery process. Be sure not to drink out of a straw, use tobacco products, or aggressively clean the area for several days. Once the extraction site is healed, it’s necessary to replace the tooth in a timely manner. This prevents the adjacent teeth from moving or shifting out of place – something that can impact your entire bite. At Marco Prime Dental, we make a variety of tooth replacement options available to our patients – like dental implants and bridges. Prior to your extraction, we will review which options are most appropriate for your oral health goals.

If you’ve been told that you need to have a tooth extraction or are thinking about getting a tooth pulled, call our Marco Island office to schedule a complimentary consultation or free 2nd opinion. We’ll take care of your entire smile without you ever having to leave the island! Most insurance plans are accepted. Se habla español.
